My life has always been about healing and compassion, from my career as a physical therapist to now being a United Methodist pastor and professional coach. I see myself as a kind of "Adventure Guide" that isn't solely worried about the end destination but is instead focused on passionately, powerfully and playfully leading people to pay attention to where they are on their journey.

UMOM is amazing!
Check out www.umom.org! It is an amazing ministry near the urban center of Phoenix that is assist homeless families getting back on their feet. Their main "New Day Center" (made possible when they purchased 2 hotels, a convention center and a restaurant across the street and renovated them) helps with both emergency shelter and transitional housing, but overall, in 3 locations they have helped over 1,500 family members in 2010!

Jim Perdue - GBGM missionary
Jim talked with us about the big picture context for our current issues with immigration. He related the current issue with Latin American immigrants to previous generations struggles with Irish, Chinese, and Japanese folks, and talked about how they are striving to get their divided congregations to engage in holy conferencing about this subject.
Bill Stanford is the man standing in the background in the pics for the previous post. He is our guide this week, but he also works in the conference office as a missionary.
